How long does a firework display last?As long at you like. As a guideline you can expect £150 per minute - but this is dependant on the type of fireworks that are part of your show, and the type of display. It is often better to have a short, multi-layered display to give greater impact and a more intense effect.

What time can I have a firework display?In the UK, by law we can fire displays up to 11pm, with the expection for: Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight. New Year's Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am.

Are your firework displays insured?Northern Lights Fireworks Limited are covered by comprehensive insurance policy. All of our firework displays are automatically covered by our £10M public liability insurance. Further details and copies of the insurance certificate are available upon request.

Do fireworks work in the rain?This is common question. The simple answer is 'yes' fireworks do work in the rain. At Northern Lights Fireworks all our fireworks are adequately protected in the event of wet weather and are therefore not affected.

How much space do I need for a firework display?We have access to a wide range of material, some of which requires only 5m to set up and has zero fallout. Our larger effects require over 200m. Much will depend on your event and venue. A full site visit and risk assessment will be provided upon enquiry.

Can I have a 'quiet firework show' if required by the venue?If this is a requirement from the venue, Northern Lights Fireworks can provide quiet displays. We will select material that is sure to 'wow' your guests even without the big bangs.

Do you ever cancel displays?Yes, however this is extremely rare and only occured once since the company was established. Adverse weather conditions, in particular wind, can massively impact the safe firing of fireworks. At Northern Lights Fireworks we reserve the right to delay, stop or cancel a display if it impacts the safety of the spectators.

Do you do fireworks to music?Yes. Our crew members specialise in areas such as show management, creativity, timing, precision,assembly and technology to ensure we never miss a beat. We can use your selected music, or alternatively leave it up to our expert team.

Do fireworks create mess?Fireworks do create minimal amount of debris. We ensure we fully clear up any debris after the display. However, on the odd occasion where we may miss something most of the left behind material is biodegradable

What if I don't know what fireworks I want?There are lots of type of fireworks, and we don't expect any customers to know them all. But, we can ensure that every display we create will use a wide range of material and is guaranteed to wow your guests.

How much space do I need?We have access to a wide range of material, some which require 5m and have zero fallout to others which require over 200m. Much will depend on your event and venue. Our over-riding concern is, of course, safety and every display is preceded by a site visit and full risk assessment.

Are you members of any professional bodies?Northern Lights Fireworks are members of The BPA (British Pyrotechnists Association) and all crew members are trained to the highest level on this programme, to ensure massive safety of crew and spectators. We are also members of the EIG (The Explosives Industry Group) and FSG (Federation of Small Businesses).

How do I book a display?All our firework displays are designed bespoke to meet each individuals needs. We provide displays for numerous events including: wedding displays, bonfire night displays and private and corporate events. No event is is the same, so our design team will work with you to design something that is perfect for you. Although we don't offer online booking, our booking process is simple, and bookings can be confirmed by completion of our booking form and small deposit, which will be discussed with you after submitting an enquiry or giving us a call.
